Information you provide

We ask your company and personal information such as name, phone number, fax number, email address, Commercial Driving License(CDL) number, photos/images, address, company name, company address, company DOT, company MC number, etc.

What type of information do we collect?

We Automatically collect and store information including, but not limited to device(Mobile Device), Internet(HTTP, UDP and TCP/IP), Location Data(GPS Coordinates).

Usage of location data

Smartelds collects location data to enable automatic driving, unidentified driving, realtime location tracking, geofence events to calculate state mileage even when the app is closed or not in use. This location data will be available to fleet manager on Smartelds dashboard.

How do we protect personal information?

We use a secure server and also take appropriate measures to ensure that the information disclosed to us is kept secure, accurate and up to date and kept only for so long as is necessary for the purposes for which it is used.

Data Transfer

We securely handle all data including personal or sensitive user data. We always do transmit data to our virtual servers(AWS) over HTTPS. We also only transfer data to other 3 party (including FMCSA) with your consent.

To facilitate our global operations, and in accordance with applicable laws, we may transfer your personal data to, and access your personal data from, our offices, subsidiaries, and affiliates in the various countries in which we operate (including the United States of America). This may be to a country other than the one in which it was provided or collected. When we transfer your personal data, we do so in compliance with applicable data protection laws. We take steps to protect personal data in whatever country it is stored in or transferred to.

Will we disclose the information we collect to outside parties?

As indicated above, we may pass your information to our partners and associated organisations, and, if you have consented, to other organisations who may support our objectives. The most common form of this is tracking the progress of bursary recipients and sharing this with their allocated sponsor. We may also need to disclose your information if required to do so by law.

Your consent

By providing us with your personal data, including sensitive personal data such as on your health and personal circumstances, you consent to the collection and use of any information you provide in accordance with the above purposes and this privacy statement. You also consent to our transferring your information to countries or jurisdictions which do not provide the same level of data protection, if required for legal purposes. If we do make such a transfer, we will, if appropriate, put a contract in place to ensure your information is protected.

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you and to have any inaccuracies in your information corrected.

Retention of your data

We retain your information (even after you close any accounts with us) only for as long as is reasonably necessary to provide you with the Services, or to comply with applicable law.

Children

We do not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13. If we learn that we have collected personal data of a minor under 13 we will take steps to delete such information from our files as soon as possible.

Changes

If your personal details change, please help us to keep your information up to date by notifying us at the above address, or by contacting us on email to help@smartelds.com. We reserve the right to amend this privacy statement. If we do so, we will post notice of the change on our website and you will be deemed to have accepted such changes.

Cookies are text files, which identify a user's computer to our server. Cookies in themselves do not identify the individual user, just the computer used.
